Physics Test 3

We will see how well this works. My bet is "not very."
The plan is to update this every hour or so to see how long I am up. I will give you the rundown of the previous hour's events. This might be interesting.

Went to go get some highlighters so I can distinguish when voltage is emf or just potential. Working on physics. Awesome² Also had to open the html edit of an old post because I can never remember the command to make an exponent.

3:30-

I have learned that despite the fact that it has been well publicized in my PHSCS 220 class that there will be a lot of "Which light bulb will be brighter?" questions on the test, there is virtually no information about them in the book.

4:44-

Decided to try to eat something. Nothing has really stayed down for over a day now. I chose to eat combos, and promptly offered Dwill some over Facebook. I am working on RC circuits as of right now, and I have officially forsaken the night's sleep. At this point I would be more tired when I get up than if I just stay awake.

5:15-

This is the last update of this post because, well, frankly I have grown tired of this. I'm tired.

It is Monday night, which means that I am frantically trying to get my physics homework done so that I can submit it by midnight. See? Can you tell how frantic I am? Right now we are working on resistivity, which is actually pretty interesting. It reminds me of this XKCD
Here is something that bothers me: when a question is labeled (for example) "Number 12," but then it has 12a, 12b, 12c and so on in that fashion. It makes it so when you look at your homework, you say "Hey, I only have 5 problems for my homework. That's pretty nice." and later find out you actually have 27, well, it just ruins your whole day.

Derek, check your spelling on your blog posts. Especially in the title. The red, squiggly underline doesn't mean "cool word."

3,2,1 and I'm having fun.

It's late. I know. Shut up. What more, I am too lazy to find my glasses, so I have to be about a foot away from the screen to see what I am typing. If I wanted to, I could go into a long dissertation about what is wrong with my eyes (thank you stupid physics class), and you know what, I don't want to. It has something to do with my 'farpoint' which you don't need to know if you are building rockets.

Work today wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was expecting it to be a mad house, but really, not too bad. Carrie (our second-cousin-once-removed-divided-by-e-raised-to-the-x-over-the-integral-of-thirty-times-sine-squared-x-dx-from-zero-to-pi-fourths [that integral should look fairly familiar to somebody who recently used it to express his mood]) (actually, she is only our second cousin according to wikipedia right here) ummm... is cool? I kinda forgot where I was going with that. Oh, and she is getting married next June or July. Cindy, don't say anything. Dwill and I aren't sure yet. There is a calorically suicidal cheese on a stick which is bet on it. I am pretty sure I am going to lose.

Here are the important events of what happened today:
1. I bought a camera. It was marked for $400 off. It was awesome.
2. I visited Derek. He had great stories. He wrote a poem about chocolate milk. It was awesome.
3. I talking with Gabi for the entire drive home from Salt Lake. It was mostly a BS session. It was awesome.
4. Dwill and I each got 100 oz of Mountain Dew and watched Monk. Again, it was awesome.
Oddly enough, the most disappointing thing about the day was a Monk episode where they talked about changing the theme music back (long story) but then they didn't. Not awesome.

Oh, and we have gone international. Buenos Dias Nina. And I am sincerely sorry to the poor man in England who stumbled onto this site by accident. He opened two pages, but only stayed on for 19 seconds.

I found my glasses so that I could sit up and type. Take that world.

• A la Dave. This made me laugh really, really hard. I was full of Mountain Dew at the time. Not a good combo. Still, really, really funny.
• Wanna see something weird? Sorry for wasting your time if you clicked on the Wikipedia link and now are seeing all you cared to find out about. Anyway, I know somebody who is their own second cousin once removed. I was going to draft you proof, but anybody who knows what I am talking about can do it on their own. If you notice, there are two slots for "second cousin once removed." One in the right-most column, and one in the adjacent column. If you try it out, it works both ways. One if you start through the father and one if you start through the mother. It is truly amazing... and weird.

I have only been at work for an hour, and I am already bored to tears. I've already finished a math assignment that isn't due for another week, so, there you have it. I am kinda abhorring school this week because it seems like it is fake, by which I mean half of my classes are canceled and the other half make it seem like they just aren't trying. There was a disclaimer on my physics class for tomorrow of "YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW THIS!!!!" So that really, really makes me want to go.

I promised Nina that I would make a few dedications to her on here. The first one come by way of Gabi. The only reason that she gets this is because (like the cheese) she is Austrian. • Again, the math (by me) was done on this to verify the accuracy of the math (done by them who made it). I am guessing that all air resistance was neglected, and if so, it would have actually made the initial contact with the ground at 1114 feet, 6 inches, and 12/25ths of an inch if you take gravity to be -32.2 ft/s^2. And for the record, I think Newton would have calculated it in the metric system.

Here is the epic tale of my day:
I was up last night until about 2:30ish (to be entirely honest, I have no idea what time it actually was when I went to sleep) studying for a math test that I had today. [Note: Math 302 is the most poorly designed class at BYU] I got up at 6:30 (I know that is sleeping-in to some of you) and went to class. I fell asleep in my first class... and my second class. I then decided that it was time for a little "pick-me-up" and managed to scrounge up 400 mg of caffeine to wake up. It sure did the trick. I thought about taking another 600 (for two reasons; One: so that I would be super, super alert for the test, and Two: just so that I could use the word "Centigram" properly in a sentence) but I never did. That was probably for the best because I got really wired after 400mg and thought of the following jokes. Okay, I only thought of one of them. The other I thought of a while ago and it got revamped for the situation.
1: Yo mamma's so fat I feel like every time I see her I should introduce myself as a Jedi Knight and a friend to Captain Solo.
2: Yo mamma's so fat that when the guys from CERN saw her belt, they asked for the Large Hadron Collider back.
If you are fuzzy on why either of those are humorous, you are much less of a nerd than I. Also, when Derek read the second one, he greatly, greatly misread it.
Anywho, I took the test. It lasted a record breaking 3.5 hours. No, this is a record for speed. It is the shortest that a Math 302 test has ever taken. It still sucked.
Now I am home and I am blessed witht the chance to study for a Physics test that I have on Thursday. I know, it is pretty gay.

So it has been many moons since I updated this. Sorry. It's not like there is ever anything interesting here anyway. Here is the lowdown of my mental process last night as I studied for my dynamics test.

Okay, I’ve really got to do this, or else I will fail, like I almost did on my physics test the other day. Huh… I wonder if the grades have been updated online for that since I took that test Nope, not yet, but it at least it still shows that I’m still in a high percentile in the class. I wonder what my current percentage is against all the possible points that I could have so far… Eww… I wonder what would have to happen in the remainder of the semester for me to still get an A in the class… Eww… okay, how about a B… Okay, okay, I’ve really got to study for this dynamics test. Okay, First ting I have to do in a work-energy problem is define positions and a gravity datum. Okay, that pretty easy. Second, I need to set up my T1+V1+U1-2NC=T2+V2. That’s simple enough, but which ones can I get rid of right off the bat? Oh my crap, I've got the best story ever. I’ve got to tell Derek about this Okay, I need to study for this test… but I need a drink first Um… ice. Okay, now I am going to go study for this test. So the T’s are kinetic energy and the V’s are potential energy, that’s simple enough. Set both T’s to mv^2 /2 and hope that one of them isn’t moving at the time so you don’t have to deal with two unknown velocities. V’s are k (delta)^2 /2 + mgh where delta is the additional length in the spring. I’m kinda hungry now too. Let me see what I can find here… Hey, little nacho cheesy things. Hey, you know what I should do tonight? I should watch Nacho Libre. That is probably one of the best movies ever. “Chancho, when you are a man.. sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room… it’s for fun.” No, no, I should really study for this test…
Okay, now I’m screwed.

I just remembered that I can't use the little <> thingies when I am switching from HTML editing and normal. They disappear! Well, kinda...

I took the dynamics test today. It wasn't that bad. Quite unlike my physics test.

I'm gonna find something interesting to do.
