I was thoroughly impressed by Joseph Lowery's inaugural prayer and thought that everybody would like to know what the original text of the prayer was. If you didn't see it, you can see it here.
"We ask you to help us work for that day
When black will not be asked to give back,
Where brown can stick around,
When yellow will be mellow,
When the red man can get ahead, man-
And when white will embrace what is right.
When there is a wocket in my pocket,
When there is a noothbrush on my toothbrush,
When there is not one fish, but two fish,
Which are both red fish and blue fish,
I do not like green eggs and ham,
I do not like them Sam I am.
Let all of those who will do justice and love mercy say 'Amen'. AMEN!"
